Women slaughter is simply part of their religion

It should have been one of those news that prompt a worldwide reaction, maybe also a final decision, a serious and tough one... and instead, just a few titles in the newspapers, and not so much in evidence. The title of the press agencies is laconic and perfectly informative: ISIS closed 19 Yazidi women in a cage and burned them alive. It happened in the Mosul area. Ah, the reader may think, what a horror: but 19 became actually a number like any other among so many massacres, tortures, and daily monstrosities. If the victims of the monsters had been 190, they would have caused the same knitting of brows, the same sad expression only for a moment.

Actually, we have become used to it. And what about Yazidi women? Of course, we think with resignation, we know ISIS hates all women. We know very well that ISIS practices sexual slavery, and that if a girl dares to rebel she is horribly punished straightaway. We also know that the sale of women is one of ISIS revenues, and that the women who have to entertain its glorious jihad fighters are often little girls aged even seven or eight. Two of them committed suicide after having suffered from terrible violence, while another little girl told that about a hundred people violated her in the same day. We have digested the idea that those are not people, but animals. If those animals have set fire to innocent creatures, what is there strange at this point? An individual who recently managed to escape ISIS, just one man, bore witness to the burning of 187 people: who knows how many other thousands of people have been executed in front of other witnesses.

The whole story is now part of a script assimilated by a public who is horrified and indifferent altogether. Who can forget the young Jordanian pilot Muad Kasasbeah? He was held captive after his plane was shot down near Raqqa, and then burned alive in a cage: such an elaborated farce was also immortalized in a video. But that story gives us a clue to understand what ISIS is doing. No, they are not beasts, they are just enacting the ancient story of their religion, Islam. To understand ISIS, we need to realize that it acts following its vision of the world, a well defined "weltanschauung", not a crazy instinct. Their ideal is the VII century world, the war for the advent of Islam.

ISIS explained in a video why the pilot was burned. It is said in the Qur'an: if one burns your crop (by plane, this time) you have to answer with fire. The slaughter of Yazidi women has a gender-based religious explanation, tied as well to their ethnicity and resistance to slavery. The Yazidis are a people of Kurdish origin, and ISIS hates them because the Kurds are the most dangerous among its enemies. Moreover, the Yazidis embrace a monotheistic religion of ancient Zoroastrian roots, and thus they are unfaithful who do not want to convert and have to be killed.

In August 2014, the invasion of the Sinjar area in northern Iraq cost an immense carnage to this poor people. The fugitives were between 300 and 600 thousand, men were slaughtered on the spot, and women were dragged away as sex slaves even with more energy, because Kurdish women of the same ethnic group are the nightmare of ISIS fighters for their unbeatable skills at war.

Women to enslave is one of the main theme of ISIS islamist program: “We will conquer Rome, we will destroy your crosses, we will make your women slaves", as the official spokesman Abu Mohammed Al Adnani said. The Yazidi women have systematically been subjected to a monstrous rape theology, which authorizes and even sanctifies the rapist. The little Yazidi girls are raped and killed just by perversion disguised as religiosity.
