Those who touch the word “Shoah” attack Israel
Playing
with the word Shoah will make Ahmadinejad happy. This pleases
Nasrallah, the head of the Hezbollah, Hamas, the Islamic jihad and Al
Qaeda. It makes neo-Nazis happy and all those who draw svastikas om
Jewish cemetries. Blatantly reporting historical errors in text books on
the number of German prisoners killed to compare it to the six million
Jews exterminated, as did Günter Grass, is a parlour game that is first
of all stupid. In fact, the Shoah is an unmovable rock and a transparent
text for the conscience and the knowledge of those who are aware of it.
But it also has an evident political meaning. Playing with the Shoah,
jumping in a way or another on the old bandwagon of its denial, is the
most frequently used weapon to destroy Israel and the Jews. In sum, it
is an anti-Semitic weapon.
And I think that there have been
other huge massacres, that sometimes are comparable in terms of traits
and segments (the mass killing of kulakis, Armenians, Cambodia,
Darfur..). But perhaps not in terms of the all-out approach to this
cruel and exaggerated operation, which was planned, ideological,
organized, long-lasting and very successful, implemented against
perfectly integrated people in the education and in the civil life of
the people that made this decision, immense... The denial of the Shoah
goes hand in hand with the promise to “eradicate the Sionist regime”:
Ahmadinejad cited the promise of the Ajatollah Khomeini to «erase
Israele from the map “ when in 2006 he spoke before the conference of
the Holocaust sponsored by Iran. There were David Duke, the head of the
Ku Klux Klan, Faurisson, Garaudy.. but all the old devices used to deny
the Shoah have been quickly replaced by the obsessive and repeated habit
to think that the Shoah is a kind of passpartout with which the Jews
and Israel fool the world, do whatever they want, sometimes perpetrating
the same crimes the Nazis were accused of. These horrible lies -
starting from the denial of the Shoah and which the world has become
used to and with which it is gambling follows the promise to destroy the
Jews and Israel.
