The left that desires Israel’s destruction

There is nothing surprising about the fact that the festivities of April 25 (also known as Italy’s Liberation Day, which commemorates the end of the Italian Civil War and the end of its Nazi occupation during WWII)have resulted in an outrageous refusal to march with the Jewish Brigade and its flag with the star of David. The National Association of Italian Partisans (ANPI), which is responsible for organizing ceremonial events for the national holiday essentially can’t or doesn’t want to prevent, on the other side, groups with Palestinian flags from either disassociating themselves from the parades or from attacking the flags of the Jewish Brigade; or worse yet together ANPI has been marching with the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel –disguised as a legitimate “social justice” movement - which is associated with all of the Jewish State’s worst enemies, including terrorists.
It's an interesting paradox: the use of the date in which Italy celebrates the Resistance is being distorted in order to attack Israel, the homeland of the Jewish people, who represent the main victims of WWII, just one day after the Shoah remembrance day. In fact, the President of Rome’s Jewish Community Ruth Dureghello has decided not to participate in any ceremony commemorating the event, and she is has done a good choice.
Actually, the clash isn’t about Jewish Brigade participation in the Resistance against the Nazi-Fascists: it’s related to the idea that anything good that the Jews do is equivalent to a fig leaf that aims to conceal their perversion. How is the willingness to treat Jewish and Arabs with the same care in the Israeli hospitals (including Palestinian terrorists or Syrians wounded in war), or to respect with laws an civil attitude gays and lesbians, or the formidable use of justice in all circumstances, including the most uncomfortable, or its army’s code of conduct... Fig leaves, which conceal those Jews with tails like Satan and fangs, persecutors of the Palestinians.
The same logic is used in relation to the Jewish Brigade. It’s not history that the ANPI friends dare to question, how could they deny the sacrifice of those heroes who came to Europe rescue, but its significance: the Jews can’t do anything good, even when they do so.
No one can deny that those volunteers from Palestine who risked their life alongside the British (like my father Alberto in Battalion 148) are a historical fact. The question that has thrown ANPI for so many years in this onslaught of anti-Semitic lies and ensuing open attacks on Israel has to do with two elements: the first concerns the use of "Resistance" as a de-historicized and ideological word, which has become universally distorted for the purposes of applying it to any real or supposed war of liberation by Social Centers, Hezbollah and the Palestinians.
Inside the Italian domestic politics it has been (hilariously!) used against the Christian Democrats or the Socialist Bettino Craxi, or even, by the Red Brigades and similia,against the Communist Party: it was always pretended "Resistance" against fascism, the same of the partisans who fought in the mountains and the Italian cities. "Resistance" has been used shamelessly in the name of any left-wing battle. So why not also for terrorism as freedom fight, or for the BDS movement, which, beyond a legal appearance, proposes the total destruction of the Jewish State. Goes without saying, Hezbollah are resistants, and also the terrorist Palestinians.
Secondly, Israel is a major and crucial battle for the left since the Cold War, perhaps the most important: it’s the one issue that can gather together all the clichés of the left’s most sinister obscurantism, that which denies the right to self-defense, which doesn’t know how to recognize terrorism accordingly, that cringes upon hearing the words "nation" or "identity," which is incapable of conceiving of the idea that Jews should no longer bow their heads and crawl under the burden of their history, and that hopes that Iran one of these days will wipe out Israel if the Palestinians can’t manage to do it.
These movements are moved by the suggestion that the Palestinians after so much rejection, laced with terror could become the champions of "two states for two peoples."But out’s not even true: the real hope is the disappearing of this colonial imperialist State.
The denial of the role of the Jewish Brigade in the war of liberation and the choice instead of choosing the Palestinians as partners, who were allied through their leader the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin Al-Husseini to Hitler himself (a nice letter from Himmler to the Mufti has recently been discovered in the archives of the National Library of Israel by doctor Joel Fish), and of promoting BDS the day after Holocaust Memorial Dayin Israel that recalls the six million Jews who perished during WWII, is very interesting: ANPI (even if from Milan the Secretary General of the Friends of Israel Association, David Romano, tells me that it’s local president Roberto Cenati defends the presence of the flag with the Star of David) is the head and the ally of his worst enemy.
ANPI remembers the extermination by clinging to the bandwagon of a criminalizing, obsessive, anti-Semitic Palestinian propaganda, which hurls the word apartheid around despite the fact that Arabs sit in the Knesset and hold numerous government offices; by denouncing checkpoints even though just a few days ago two Palestinian sisters attempting to cross into Israel from the Gaza Strip so that one could receive cancer treatment were caught carrying explosives. Moreover, it fails to recognize that the Palestinians are attempting each and every day to rewrite Jewish history by erasing the vestiges of its life and biblical role in which the scriptures and the history books are clear, in other words Jerusalem's bond with the Jews.
Lastly, Israel is accused of violence whereby not a single day passes in the country without Palestinians stabbing them, running them down in vehicle-ramming attacks or killing innocent bystanders while shouting Allahu Akbar.
Yesterday, in the name of "Resistance" the flag of a backward and miserable left that opposes Israel, its history, and its existence has tried to cancel the flag of the heroes who came to die for Europe against Hitler and Mussolini from the new born state of the Jews just the day after the Holocaust. Great is the perversion of human being.
