Israel is not a monster arresting children

Yesterday, Adel Biton, a little 3-year old Israeli girl, was released from the hospital for the weekend after four months in very serious condition. The car she was riding in, driven by her mother, was struck by rocks thrown by Palestinians. Adel suffered wounds to her head that still create critical consequences. It is a pure moral and intellectual scandal to find, on the front page of La Repubblica, Adriano Sofri’s sanctimonious summation in favor of the Palestinian child detained by the Israeli army. It is morally and intellectually scandalous to find, on the front page of La Repubblica, Adriano Sofri’s sanctimonious summation in favor of the Palestinian child detained by the Israeli army. Sofri"s report is nothing shortly of scandelous. It is a shrewd anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic provocation that makes the IDF and Israel look like monstrous persecutors of children, when:
1) Thousands of Palestinian children are saved and healed with love every year in Israeli hospitals.
2) The facts - along with a YouTube video - show that a child who was throwing rocks – a lethal and common act responsible for widespread wounding and killing – was discovered by the Army, taken in hand by a Palestinian boy and turned over to his family. The father and his child were taken to the Palestinian police - not to the Israelis - and detained for a few hours. In the video, the child obviously resists and cries, but not because he had been physically punished. Of course he felt accused and would have preferred to go back and throw more rocks. But he wasn’t touched in any way.
3) As is clear from the video, the Israeli soldiers never touched the child. At all times, the soldiers were always accompanied by the Palestinian boy or by his own father. Still, the Army opened an investigation, just in case that there had been a mistake: the father had been briefly blindfolded.
4) It is well known that Palestinians indoctrinate and use children in the war against Israel. The pro-Palestinian media which cover this up are actually hurting the Palestinian children. During the Battle of Jenin in 2002, for example, a little Palestinian girl was found carrying a bag loaded with TNT. And who can forget the image of the child wearing a belt of explosives at the Gaza checkpoint? Indoctrination is deadly and permanent: the child was not playing. Typically, there are TV shows like Farfur - a sort of Palestinian Mickey Mouse - who in one episode called for killing Jews and who then was killed himself by Israeli soldiers. Now, in addition, during the holy of month of Ramadan, the Arab world is broadcasting a TV series called "Khaybar." This series is directed at all Arab families, as they break their daily fasts at night. Its message is clear and simple: Kill the Jews!
5) Curiously, we never saw the media express the slightest horror over the cold-blooded murder of three Israeli children - one of whom was an infant. In a village called Itamar, Palestinian terrorists slit the throats of these young children and those of their parents. When it comes to the Israelis the mass media does not care about their children. On the other hand, the Palestinian child mentioned above, wasn’t even touched, and the media went wild. He wasn't killed; he wasn't beaten.
6) B’Tselem, the Israeli "Human Rights" organization, denounced this episode. It looks for every opportunity to delegitimize Israel. It, of course, denounced the Israeli soldiers here, even though the YouTube video proves that the Palestinian boy wasn't even touched!
