We have wasted our own breath and articles to explain the existence and nature of terrorism in Europe: it was hard. The terrorists have been a long time named freedom fighters, friends that commit some mistake.
Later, especially after September 11, finally the word "terrorist" has been finally spelled. But even today, when it's about Israeli, you can see tites as "three Israelis and three Palestinians killed" even when the second three attacked their three victims with guns and knives.
And now, the time for the unpronounceable expression "Islamic terrorism" has come: it is a very difficult effort in all languages. Terrorists have become: "lone wolves"; sometimes they are youths with psychological problems or "marginalized"; sometimes they have been eventually "radicalized", like by a virus.
Islam is never considered itself responsible even if is no longer considered "a religion of peace"; but it produces evel when its "radical", "fundamentalist" or "political" interpretation becomes the protagonist, so the risk stays on the margin. And also because: "every religion, has its own fundamentalists", its terrorists. It's poetic, pathetic, and also very worrying.
And it's not just an European point of view. It reminds me of an Israeli friend who said: "I know that if I give them everything they ask for: land, weapons and rights, they will try to kill me; but I prefer to die rather than to abandon my non-violent choices". It is an admirable point of view but it involves an overwhelming responsability toward an entire world and an entire civilization.
It is obvious to anyone who knows a bit about Islam that its believers cannot be integrated because they belong not to a religion but to an entire civilization where religion is just a part: it is political, social and familiar. Church here, namely religious power, cannot be separated from the State. Dialogue has proved very difficulties: the large number of Muslims who disagrees with violence has no political power to oppose the growing intimidation, and the West is too weak to offer protection.
It is necessary to end the illusions dictated by ignorance: for those who know the Koran, Jihad is not only a spiritual concept, but it is a real battle for the Messianic Redemption from the infidels' world.
The tolerance of the Islamic world in the past is a myth: Christian and Jewish dhimmis have always been treated as inferior people and suffered in the hands of the muslim world; for Islam, agreement and sincerity are only valid if they are in favor of its faithfuls; signs of understanding and openness are interpreted as messages of weakness; in Islamic countries, the percentage of believers who demands the Sharia is higher than those who would like a friendly secular relationship; Wahhabism, the extreme Sunni Islam, grows every day and the Shiite world headed by Iran is advancing.The threat is also great because of the second-generation of youth, with legal documents of the country where they were born, is growing.
Because of this complex situation it is necessary a trench warfare and a dynamic war; It is necessary a resolute and strong ruling class proud of the battle that is being fought to save their own children and land. A realistic ruling class, instead of a snob one, ready to shock the enemies, as always happens in history when you want to win. Only by force the Islamic terrorism will end.
