Dear friends,
a group of French Jewish intellectuals has recently promoted a manifesto (JCall - "Call for Reason"), which essentially is an attempt to compel Israel to give up and surrender.
The JCall document will contribute to strengthen the great wave of delegitimization of the State of Israel and of its politics.
We have answered with the power of the real reasons, the reasons of Israel, and we want the number and quality of our signatories to show that a large opinion movement in defense of Israel exists all through Europe and worldwide.
You can read below our appeal "Stand for Israel, stand for reason". We ask you to sign it and spread it through all your contacts to achieve our goal as soon as possible.

The attack against Israel by the Jcall document is inspired by a short-sighted view of the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict. In fact, the signatories of this appeal do not have the clear perception of the global physical and moral threat to which Israel is currently exposed. It is indeed incredible that intelligent and cultivated people like Alain Finkelkraut and Bernard-Henri Levy - instead of dealing with Iran that will soon keep the whole world under the threat of the range of its atomic bomb - play with the idea that Benjamin Netanyahu is the true hindrance to peace, that the essential obstacle to a resolution of the conflict is a reproachable attitude of Israel. The intellectuals who have signed the French document ignore history and don’t care about the help that it will give and is already giving to the unprecedented delegitimization threatening the life of Israel. El ataque contra Israel por el documento de Jcall es inspirado por una vista miope de la historia del conflicto Árabe-Israelí. De hecho, los signatarios de esta súplica no tienen la idea clara de la amenaza física y moral global a la cual Israel actualmente está expuesta. Es de hecho increíble que gente inteligente y cultivada como Alain Finkelkraut y Bernard-Hneri - en vez de asumir que Irán pronto tendrá el mundo entero bajo amenaza de su bomba atómica - juega con la idea que Benjamin Netanyahu es el obstáculo verdadero a la paz, y que el obstáculo esencial a una resolución del conflicto es una actitud reprochable de Israel. The Italian journalist Fiamma Nirenstein is the author of numerous books on anti-Semitism, Israel, and the Middle East conflict, including (in English) "Israel is Us" (JCPA, 2009) and "Terror: the New Anti-Semitism and the War against the West" (Smith & Kraus, 2005).
In April 2008, she was elected to the Italian Chamber of Deputies as a member of Silvio Berlusconi’s People of Freedom (PDL) party. She is presently the vice-president of the chamber’s Committee on Foreign Affairs. In February, she accompanied Prime Minister Berlusconi on a three-day visit to Israel.

Dear friends,
Just a few lines to keep you posted on my recent initiatives. We passed through an extremely prolific and significant period of work.
I'm writing now having just came back from a very intensive week in Israel: first, I was part of President Berlusconi’s delegation for the first bilateral summit between Italy and Israel. Eight Italian Ministers took part in it and it was very successful, as you could probably see from the great media coverage that was granted to this historical event. You can read some of my impressions in one of my recent articles I’m forwarding below.
Just one day after Berlusconi’s visit ended, on February 4th, I led the delegation of MPs we promoted in the framework of our very active Italy-Israel Parliamentary Friendship Association. This was our second visit to Israel. Last year we concentrated in the Southern border, while this year we focused on the Jerusalem question, the "freezing" issue and the Northern border. The group, totally voluntary and self-funded, was made of 30 people, 14 MPs from the various political parties (totally bipartisan), some of them accompanied by their partners, professors and journalists. We had a ultra intensive 5 days program, from Thursday 4, coming back with the Tuesday 9 early morning flight in order to be right back for the voting in the Parliament… [...]
